Humanities And Chemistry Week 1
On our first week of school we talked a lot about our project and how it is going to play out during the year. There will be 4 phases in our project and each containing a different photo for each phase. This first phase is about light and how we can use light to create different affects. On a couple selected days during this week our teachers let us go outside and take photographs around liberty station.
Humanities And Chemistry Week 2
On the first couple days of this week we worked on making lights for a part of a project we were doing. The next day me and a group of four went to go find a dark room and we brought our light to them use the lights that we made to shine them on our faces to create an effect of light . We took pictures of ourselves using the light in different positions to create different effects that photographers use to take professional photos under a light set up.
Does our society have to depend on a peon class?
I think that our society does in some ways need to depend on a peon class because they are willing to work harder for less amount of money. Just because they are willing to work harder for less pay doesn't make it right to give them less pay just because they are desperate for anything. Any person who has been living in the country for a longer period of time would most likely take down the offer to work at one of those farms because of the amount of money given.

Humanities and Chemistry week 3
Weekly reflection
This week during humanities we are working on a project about taking a photo from a famous photographer named Dorethea Lange and writing 5 reflections on the picture that we chose. We would chose one of the hundreds of photos that she took and the different perspectives would consist of emotional, historical, social, political perspectives. In Chemistry we were working on making emoltions for our photo project.

Humanities and Chemistry week 4
Weekly reflection
This week during humanities we are working on finishing our 1000 word project on dorethea Lange's photo. Another thing that we are doing is reading Of Mice And Men up to page 65 and we had a discussion about what the characters were doing in the chapter. In Chemistry we mostly kept working on coating our papers with emoltion and getting them ready for our final picture to then be printed on the coated paper.
Dark Room Set Up
To set up the dark room we had to make lights that are less harsh so that they don't expose the emulsion too early. To make these lights we had to buy regular light bulbs then to connect them to a power strip so that they can be hung with the rest of the hanging lights. After you make the bulbs we placed them in a line on the ceiling and covered them all with trader joe bags so that the light is dimmed and amber not white and harsh.

Emotional
I feel like these people feel very terrible that in order to make money that they have to do back breaking labor for such long periods of time. They work 7am to 12am for only 35 cents a day. I feel bad for these people that they can't have a normal job like everyone else because they are immigrants and they don't have a great education. It is a very sad thing to know that even young adults and children were worked in the fields until they had no more energy to work anymore. I can’t even imagine how a mother or a father would feel knowing that their own children are being forced to work in the fields just so that they can have enough money just to live.
Historical
This image takes place during the 1930’s which was a time called the Great Depression. It was due to a sudden collapse in the U.S stock market prices On October 29, 1929. Carrot farms were located in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri, and Mexico. These particular carrot pullers are located in Coachella Valley, California. They had came from all parts of the united states and everywhere they went they couldn't make any more than a dollar a day.
Personal
In this photo it shows Carrot pullers working on the farm and to me they look very tired and exhausted from working all day most likely dehydrated and possibly unhealthy. I feel very bad that these people had to work in such harsh conditions for a very low paycheck in return. I think that the people that had to work on these farms should have been treated better and given a larger pay because of how much work they had to do everyday.
Light
The way the photo is taken your mainly focused on the man carrying the large wooden box on his shoulder because of how he is the largest in the photo. The reason I think this is because your eyes naturally follow straight to the largest subject or object. With a light background and the picture being in black and white it makes the people in the picture pop out more because they are darker than the background.
Political
Herbert Hoover began his presidency eight months before the Wall Street Crash of 1929, which destabilized the banking system in the United States and caused many Americans to lose their livelihoods and net worth. To combat the crisis, President Hoover preferred a conservative approach to increase economic growth. He believed in the laissez-faire principle which is less government control to shore up businesses.

Humanities and Chemistry week 5
†his week we planned a field trip to balboa park to take photos for our phase one project. our assignment was to take pictures of what our current society looks like and how can we capture that in a photo or many photos. i took pictures of people that were doing a talent of theirs for money and chose this because in our society there a lot of people that are struggling to make money or to get a job. There were about 5 or more people that were making money of of playing music or dancing and people seemed to enjoy it. A lot of students in my class had the same idea to take photos of the people performing for money as well.

Weekly reflection
This week in school we are drifting more toward Phase Two of our project. After spring break we will be focusing on landscape, outdoor, and astro photography. Most of our photos from Phase One are either being developed or already done which would make moving to phase 2. In chemistry we did an experiment with hydrogen balloons over an open flame and the way the experiment took place was to first mix citric acid and magnesium together in a flask then put 1/4 of a cup of water into the flask and then place the balloon onto of the flask.

This week in school we are currently moving on to a different phase called landscape photography so our teachers showed us some pictures and examples of good and professional landscape photos. A couple of our projects are to take a professional landscape photo and to take a picture of a view from my house that I like or a side of my house that I like.

Independent Experiment
What I am going to do for my independent experiment is to build a lighter that instead of shooting fire like normal it would shoot ice. In order to do this you need to completely strip the parts of a lighter and take out the straw that brings gas in to create flame then drain the fuel. Once done you must put the lighter back together and replace the flint striker then refill the lighter with butane fuel. Now it will shoot freezing fuel that once sprayed on a surface it will freeze it to negative temperatures.

Below is my reflection to a panoramic photo of the Northern Cascades that is shown here
Northern Cascades panoramic
This panoramic photo Was taken in the Northern Cascades which is located in Western North America. The North Cascades are considered the most rugged mountain range in the contiguous United States. The view from this panoramic shot shows all of the aspects of a rugged mountain terrain along with snow on the mountains that in that area was a factor to creating those rugged mountains. The photo shows a very large body of water that is seemingly to be very clear to view and is a very light blue. The bodies of water are going into three different directions and they seem to be very calm with little or nothing breaking the surface of the water making it look very smooth. The photo shows most of the land under the mountainsides covered in vast patches of tall trees and it covers all of the land near the water and almost covering the whole entire photo except for the mountains. The Photo even shows small islands in the middle of the water that are small in the picture but could be larger if you were to go there yourself. I think that one of the most interesting parts of the shot is the clouds that are covering the tops of the mountains which makes the mountain seem taller. What makes me think this is that if I see clouds above a mountain I'd assume it to be tall. The snow on top of the mountain ranges and the tall trees below with no snow on them make the scene look like two different seasons like the snow above the summit being winter and the lower area with tall trees being spring or summer.

Weekly Reflection
This week we started to work on previous work such as last weeks blog. We are also starting to work on our landscape photos of our own house view and our own professional landscape photo that I plan to take with my DJI Phantom Drone or my parents camera. Another thing that we are working on is creating our independent experiments and getting them ready to present to our teachers and class. Jacob and I currently have half of our experiments finished and are working on getting it done by next week.

Down below is my Steinbeck model writing
A place that has an effect on me would be my neighborhood. The reason for this is because I have so many things to do. I've lived in my neighborhood for around 10 years and have gone through a lot being there and made many friends at my old school down the street. It is a quite place most of the time and has a wide street to ride bikes or do whatever you wish to. I have a very large canyon right on the side of my street that is filled with many trees, plants, and succulents. Ever since I've lived there the canyon has started to form a river stream that continues to grow every time it rains. After it rains in continues to flow until it dries back up into the soil. It has a huge log that goes across the dry stream that fell over from a windy storm one day. In the canyon on my street there are coyotes and lots of animals sometimes in the evening you can see them strolling down the streets in my neighborhood. Not much has changed in the past ten years of living there except for close neighbors moving houses and stores going out of business.
Humanities and Chemistry Week 10
Weekly reflection
This week during Humanities and Chemistry we got with our groups to help set up for exhibition and displaying our portraits on the wall. Our group and I went into photoshop and changed all of the portraits into black and white then adjusted the contrast on the photographs. In Chemistry we did a dry ice experiment where we put dry ice in a compressed container to let it build up gases then let go of the lid and it created an explosion out the top. After the experiment our chemistry teacher Andrew let us experiment with peices of dry ice and we did cool things like making steam from putting it in water.

Weekly Reflection
This week in humanities and chemistry we worked a lot in our groups for presenting in exhibition. Me and my group found a wall that was empty but had a white patch so we painted it over a two day period and did two layers. We plan to hang up the portraits that we took in phase one on the wall that we painted. We are also finishing up our landscape photos and putting them up into photoshop to edit them for printing on metallic paper with an epoxy coating finish. The epoxy finish makes the photo have a glossy and more clear look and helps preserve the image better and not be so vulnerable to fingerprints and damage to the photograph.

This week in school we worked mostly on editing our final landscape photographs and preparing them to be printed onto the metallic photo paper with epoxy finishes. We edited all the photos on photoshop and added saturation and brightness etc. we plan to put our landscapes up for 60$ and sell them at exhibition and 30$ goes back to the artist or photographer so that it's fair for the photographer to get some credit and reward for selling their art piece to someone.

This week was a lot different than most weeks because we were planning a camping trip to cuyamaca state park to take our Astro photographs that we had planned for about a month. We are going to stay for 2 nights and three days (Monday through Wednesday) and my groups focus is to photograph Jupiter and Saturn with a large telescope and a surprisingly small camera that attaches to the telescope and captures Saturn. We are going to have to stay up until 4:00 in the morning because that is when Saturn is most visible. If we have enough time and battery life left in the telescope and camera we can try to photograph other planets if we can.

Humanities
This week During humanities we had to plan out our camping trip with our group on a google document to gather things that we need and should bring for our camping trip. We had a very large group so we would need a very large tent so we had to plan that as well.
Chemistry
This week during Chemistry we continued to plan our trip and we found a tent but it was very dirty and not taken care for by the previous group that used the tent so we cleaned it hoping that it would restore the tent so that we can use it but unfortunately we couldn't fix it so we had to find another tent.

This week we went on the camping trip that we planned last week and unfortunately our group didn't get our photo of Saturn or Jupiter so we are planning on going on another trip so that we can take our photo. Besides our group not getting our photo it was a really fun trip and we did a lot of fun activities like hiking and fishing along with a lot of just hanging out with friends while taking different photos and such. At night at around 12:00 at night is when its the most visible and I was able to see large gray blurs in the sky that were galaxies.

What is something that I will remember in 10 years from now about the trip?
Some things that I will remember in ten years from the camping trip would definitely be being able to see the stars and galaxies with your own naked eye and I think that it is amazing to just be able the see that. Mostly why I think that this is such an amazing thing to see because in the city where most of our school lives it is not easy to see any stars or to see them in any great detail that at cuyamaca where we camped.

This week we we did our preparations for our TPOL which is a small presentation that all students have to perform. Do do this presentation you have to have two friends or people in our class to sit down and talk with our teachers about our final photograph. for my final photograph I am planning to do something that has to do with basketball so I am going to take a photo of a basketball hoop with a very nice background and possibly a nice sunset if i get lucky with a nice sky. Me and my group from my astrophotography project are planning for another night out so that we can finally get our photograph.

In humanities we were told to do a 300 word writing assignment talking about ourselves and our hobbies, etc.
Hello and my name is Elliott J Clark and I am 15 years old and I have only been in the high tech high system for about a year. And I so far have had a lot of struggles in the past year and even in the beginning of the year with school work and just paying attention. But in this new year I hope to have good experiences and learn a lot about the subjects and enjoy school all in general. Most of the struggle of being at this school is that it is very different and hard to adjust too because I am very used to textbooks, tests, etc.I really enjoy sports and my favorites are basketball, soccer, and football. I've played soccer and basketball but never played football but I would really like to at some point. I really like animals too and I own two dogs but I used to have a snake and lizard as well which was a fun experience. My favorite types of music are rap and hip hop and my favorite rapper are most Likely NAV and xtentacion both are really good and I enjoy listening to them as well as 2pac. Another thing about me is that In overall I hope that I will enjoy this new year and I hope to get better at what I wasn't in the past and to be able to challenge my academic struggles so I can have a healthy year and finish strong so that I am ready for junior year of high school without having to worry about passing or failing.
